Things to Do

Things To Do
Whether you visit Grangeville in winter or summer, you will find plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, scenic views, and year-round adventure.

The Grangeville Country Club golf course is conveniently located along Highway 95 just outside of town. Winter recreation includes the Snowmobile Round Up in Dixie, cross-country trails, downhill skiing, and tubing at Snowhaven. During the warmer months, typically May through October, visitors can enjoy hiking, mountain biking, motorcycling, ATV riding, and side-by-side trail adventures.

Whatever outdoor activity you enjoy, Grangeville provides an ideal home base for exploring the region. Challenge yourself with a whitewater rafting trip or jet boat excursion on the Snake or Salmon rivers. Spend a quiet day fishing for steelhead or brown trout along the historic South Fork of the Clearwater River, or book a guided fishing trip on the Snake or Salmon rivers.

Horseback trail rides and many other outdoor adventures are also available throughout the area. For additional trip ideas, visit the Idaho Outfitters and Guides Association.

Those interested in history will also find many opportunities to explore the heritage of the region. Visit the Bicentennial Historical Museum and Mammoth Exhibit in Grangeville, the Historical Museum at St. Gertrude in Cottonwood, and other museums and historic attractions throughout the area.

Whatever your interests, you will find a wide variety of things to see and do in and around Grangeville. After a full day of exploring, hang up your spurs, settle in, and enjoy some well-earned rest.

Planning a visit? Contact the Grangeville Chamber of Commerce for information and assistance with your vacation plans.
