Grangeville Idaho offers a fantastic location for motorcyclists to enjoy day rides in different directions.   Whether you are a road or dual sport rider, Grangeville can offer you a base from which to take a variety of different rides and see some fantastic scenery.  Here are a few great rides you can take from Grangeville. Be sure and check out the article in the Northern Rockies Rider magazine that describes a couple of rides you can access from town.

A motorcycle ride heading southeast along the South Fork of the Clearwater River on Highway 14 is very scenic, with the beauty of a shimmering river and many picnic and spots to pull over along the way. If it’s summer, stop at one of the swimming holes and take a dip!

Motorcyclists can also depart from Grangeville and head east on Highway 13 down toward the South Fork of the Clearwater River and then head north through Harpster, Stites and Kooskia.  Have lunch in Kooskia and then ride toward Kamiah and up Hwy 7 to reach the Camas Prairie where the mountains rise from the vast agricultural farm ground of the Camas Prairie.  Head back to Grangeville.

Ride to Kooskia and turn east on Hwy 12 along the Middle Fork of the Clearwater River and into the Wild and Scenic Lochsa and Selway Wilderness toward Lolo.  Enjoy lunch at the Lochsa Lodge and then take in a return drive along the Selway River.

Depart from Grangeville heading South on Highway 95 to White Bird and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the Salmon River.  Enjoy breakfast or lunch in Riggins Idaho and continue south to the resort town of McCall, Idaho. Off roaders can head out of town and take the Grangeville-Salmon Rd (FS #221) to the Salmon River, then either head to Riggins or McCall.

Depart from Granegville heading North on Hwy 95 to Winchester.   Enjoy the beauty of Winchester Lake.
